Welp. This was horrendous. We went to Swinley Forest and hired some mountain bikes - I had visions of lovely, lush, forest trails as we cycled gently through the trees, but the reality was that I could barely get on the bike, felt I was going to fall off every time I hit a stone, nearly did fall off and put my leg down too wide and hard and jarred my hip, and didn't even make it out of the trail entrance. This all made me really quite upset - I used to bike ride a lot, even kids can do it, and I felt stupid and embarrassed and frustrated. I think I just have to accept that mountain biking is not for me, and probably never will be - and if I want to ride a bike, it'll be a road bike on flat paths.
As an aside, this pic might just be the boot up the ass I need to spur me on to lose that stone; really not impressed with how big I look!
